During my investigation of the present day situation of the Spanish thalidomide victims who had not been compensated financially. I went to London to take part in a demonstration with ICTA the International Contergan Thalidomide Alliance who had come to protest against Grünenthal the German Pharmaceutical company, responsible for the creation of the drug.
At the demonstration I met Nadia Malavasi who runs the Italian Thalidomide association TAIONLUS www.thalidomidicionlus.it
A year later Nadia invited me to go to her home town Padova in April 2009 for the 50th anniversary of thalidomide on the market.
